The Apollo Healthcare Property Fund successfully closed 2022 with the acquisition of three properties. With residential care organization De Drie Notenboomen and developer Scala Projects, the Fund reached agreement on the realization and acquisition of a “Herbergier” in Lage Vuursche as well as Schiedam. In addition, the Fund has acquired the Medical Center Assen.
Both Herbergiers will be renovated into a small-scale residential facility to provide high-quality housing for 32 respective 16 residents with dementia. Each apartment will have a private bathroom. There is also a large communal living room and a beautiful garden for the residents. The complexes will be made more sustainable and energy efficient. The renovation of the Lage Vuursche location has already started and in Schiedam the renovation will begin in the first half of 2023. The acquisition of the two Herbergiers stems from the successful cooperation with De Drie Notenboomen and Scala Projects. Earlier cooperation resulted in the acquisition of a Herbergier in Voorthuizen.
The Assen Medical Center is located in the center of Drenthe’s capital city and provides housing for a wide range of healthcare providers. Tenants include a pharmacy, general practice, physiotherapy, specialized oral care and the UWV (Netherlands Employees Insurance Agency). The property was recently renovated and made more sustainable resulting in an energy label A.
“The Covid crisis and the war in Ukraine have caused firm movements in real estate markets. We are pleased to further roll out our strategy to provide high-quality, sustainable and affordable housing and facilities for the elderly, people with care needs and healthcare providers. In 2023, we expect to continue its growth,” said Michel van Oostvoorn, Director Investments at Hartelt Fund Management.
