Over the past few months, Siem Leenders has conducted research as part of his graduation thesis at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences on promising locations for long-term investments in Dutch healthcare real estate. The need for care and demand for suitable care housing will increase significantly over the next 25 years. Current facilities are often outdated and inadequate. Therefore, there is a great need for investments in new housing. Siem’s research focused on identifying the most relevant factors that determine the attractiveness of investment locations for healthcare real estate in the Netherlands. Based on the seven most relevant factors, a multi-criteria analysis was conducted, resulting in an opportunity map of the Netherlands.
We would like to thank Siem for his dedication and hard work, and for being a wonderful colleague! We wish Siem much success with his further studies in ‘Sustainability Science, Policy and Society’ at Maastricht University.
