The Hoflandschool used the National Pancake Day to give students from group 7/8 and the elderly from De Kom a pleasant afternoon.
Most students have their own grandparents, but now they could meet an even older generation: the “grandpa” and “grandma” of the teacher.
This made for a very special afternoon. At school they were already prepared for it. Friday afternoon they could put that knowledge into practice.
After baking piles of pancakes themselves, they brought them with syrup and sugar to De Kom, where they could ask the residents present about their opinions. The mutual interest was heart-warming.
A super afternoon, which the children, seniors and teachers alike learned and enjoyed immensely.
