Investment in nursing home ‘De Herbergier’ in Voorthuizen
The Apollo Healthcare Property Fund has reached an agreement with care organization De Drie Notenboomen and developer Scala Projects on the realization and acquisition of the property Buitenlust – Herbergier in Voorthuizen.
The property is located on the Hoofdstraat in a residential area and is just steps away from the attractive center of Voorthuizen, which has a wide range of stores and restaurants. The building will be renovated into a small-scale Herbergier residential facility to provide high-quality housing for 16 residents with dementia. Each apartment has its own bathroom. There is also a large common living room and a beautiful garden for the residents. The renovation of the property will include improvements in sustainability and energy efficiency. The construction of the property has already started and the delivery and opening will take place in the first half of 2023.
Franchise organization De Drie Notenboomen offers people with dementia a warm and loving home with its formula Herbergier. Chantal Weijers, Director of Real Estate SOG at De Drie Notenboomen, explains: “In a Hostel, two care entrepreneurs are at the helm. They themselves live in the Hostel and are responsible for the care and enjoyment of the residents. They are involved and accessible to everyone. The core values of dignity, safety and freedom of choice play an important role in this.”
Scala Projects specializes in the development and realization of residential (care) properties. Andrea van de Beek, CEO of Scala Projects: “Building Buitenlust in Voorthuizen does have a long history. We therefore looked for a way to preserve the building and provide it with a function that fits in with the local environment. A hostelry fits in perfectly. We are pleased that we were able to start renovating after a smooth permit process.”
The Apollo Zorgvastgoedfonds invests on behalf of pension funds in healthcare housing and facilities throughout the Netherlands. Michel van Oostvoorn, Director Investments of Hartelt Fund Management: “We are pleased with the cooperation with De Drie Notenboomen and Scala Projects to realize sustainable, high-quality and affordable housing in the Netherlands for people with intensive care needs. The Herbergier in Voorthuizen is a very nice first result of this cooperation.”
