With the completion of the Herbergier at Lage Vuursche, the Apollo Healthcare Property Fund has included a highly sustainable asset in its portfolio.
The former Sint Elisabeth Monastery in Lage Vuursche, dating from 1927, was transformed in 2022/2023, in cooperation with Scala Projects, De Drie Notenboomen, De Herbergier and Koppen bouw-onderhoud, into a double Herbergier, a small-scale residential facility for 32 people with dementia. The challenge was to obtain a high energy label for a monument. In consultation with the monument committee and by installing heat pumps, PV panels and extra insulation of the shell, among other things, we managed to make the building sustainable to an A++++ label.
